Welcome to Virginia R. Boris Elementary School, the newest elementary school in Clovis Unified! As your principal, I am honored to be a part of such an amazing school staff and community where we are all dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of our children.
The first year of opening our school and establishing our own unique and special culture has been one of the most amazing experiences. Our focus on teamwork to create a school environment that continues the traditions of excellence and commitment to the core values of our school district has already given our students, staff, and community a strong foundation on which we will continue to build our educational platform and support our 21st Century Learning Environment. Together, we will make every effort to challenge, support, and prepare our students to be the best they can be in Mind, Body, and Spirit every day.
As a 21st Century Learning School, our students are supported in an environment that is interconnected in:
The 6 C’s- critical thinking, communication, creativity, collaboration, character, and citizenship are incorporated into every aspect of the learning environment. Our classrooms are flexible spaces where personalized learning strategies are developed and used based on student needs.
In the first months of operation, our school has already begun to embed technology and hands-on instruction into daily lessons, creating adaptive and engaging learning opportunities for every student. Our library has become the “hub” of the school, supporting content and standards mastery through a makerspace and inquiry rich environment. Digital Citizenship is a focus and commitment, school-wide, teaching our students to be responsible and aware of our ever-evolving world of technology.
Our community and parent support is second to none. We are fortunate to have a strong and involved parent community who have embraced our vision to become a model of excellence for 21st Century Learning, global citizenship, innovation, and shared leadership.
We look forward to seeing the many amazing accomplishments of our students, staff, and school community.
